Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of gunning down conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has reportedly confessed to the murder in a series of damning text messages.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead on September 10 while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University.
The attack sent shockwaves through conservative circles and sparked an immediate FBI investigation.
Text messages obtained by TMZ allegedly show Robinson admitting to the killing and revealing his hatred for Kirk as the motive.
In one chilling message, Robinson wrote: “If I’m unable to grab my rifle unseen, I will have no evidence left. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on.”
The texts suggest Robinson had been plotting the attack for over a week, carefully planning how to execute his deadly scheme.
Erika Kirk broke her silence during an emotional appearance at a Turning Point USA conference, her first public statement since losing her husband.
Fighting through tears, she told the crowd that Charlie was killed for standing up for his beliefs.
“He was assassinated because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and God’s merciful love,” she said.
The couple, who married in Scottsdale, Arizona, in May 2021, leaves behind two young children who will now grow up without their father.
Former President Donald Trump, who worked closely with Kirk throughout his political career, announced that the conservative leader would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously, America’s highest civilian honor.
Trump also ordered all U.S. flags to fly at half-mast as the nation mourns Kirk’s death.
The killing has left the conservative movement reeling, with many questioning whether political violence is becoming normalized in America.
Kirk’s organization continues operating as supporters demand justice for their fallen leader.
Robinson remains in custody as the FBI investigation continues.
