Prominent online commentator and celebrity critic, Daniel Regha, has voiced his disapproval of the actions of controversial artist Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington. Speed Darlington recently sparked widespread backlash on social media after posting a video holding a bottle of baby oil, suggesting that Burna Boy had a romantic relationship with troubled American rapper, Diddy. He went on to allege that this association played a role in Burna Boy’s Grammy wins. The controversial video led to Speed Darlington’s arrest by the Nigerian Police Force.
Despite a court ruling mandating his release, Speed Darlington remained in custody for several weeks, igniting conversations and debates across the country. After months of legal proceedings, his lawyer, Stan Alieke, took to Instagram on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, to announce his eventual release following what was described as two months of unlawful detention.
Since his release, Speed Darlington has resumed his jabs at Burna Boy. In a recent TikTok video, he wore a mask resembling the American rapper, Diddy, continuing his indirect attacks.
In reaction to this behavior, Daniel Regha took to his X account to criticize Speed Darlington, pointing out the lack of intervention by his legal team and warning of the consequences if Burna Boy or his team decides to take legal action again.
Daniel Regha wrote:
“Speed Darlington is indirectly shading Burna by wearing a Diddy mask, his lawyer(s) won’t advise their client now; But if Burna or his team decides to get him locked up again, they will start playing the victim card. There should be a limit to one’s pettiness.”
