Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido has revealed that although he has collaborated with American rapper Nicki Minaj on several songs, they have never met face to face. During a recent visit to the Bootleg Kev podcast, Davido discussed how the collaborations came about. According to him, although they have made two songs together, they are still to meet face to face.
Their musical partnership has been well received, but music fans may be shocked to learn that it has all been virtual.
“You know the crazy thing? I have never met her [Nicki Minaj]. It’s crazy. We speak on the phone all the time. The first time we linked was through DM,” Davido said.
“I noticed that she was following me, and I texted her. I woke up the next morning and saw her reply. I was shocked. I told her I had a song for us, and she said she was interested. I think it was 2019 or 2020. I sent her the record, and two days later, she sent me her verse.” He added
