De Imperial Philanthropic Family restated its firm commitment to community development across the South-East of Nigeria as it successfully hosted its 6th Annual General Meeting and Ascension Night, respectively, in Lagos on 30 October and 1 November 2025.
Led by its National President, High Chief Dr. (Sir) Darlington Nwabunike (Eze-Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku N’anwu Ojoto), the AGM was on the theme “The Emerging Southeast: Re-Inventing Its Past Glory.” The event featured insightful contributions from distinguished speakers, including Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, CEO of United Nigeria Airlines, who highlighted the economic value of Akulueuno, or Think Home, initiatives, and former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka called for a change from excuses to pro-activeness in taking responsibility.
Those who graced the Ascension Night include the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu; Senators Orji Uzor Kalu, Victor Umeh, and Tony Nwoye; Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly called Obi Cubana; KC Limpopo; Abig Nwankwo; and Dr. Frank Igbojindu of Akpoazaa Group, among several traditional rulers.
One of the high points was the presentation of ₦500 million to the wives of the members-a landmark empowerment initiative designed to enhance women’s entrepreneurship and family-based economic growth.
By means of scholarships, business support, health care, and cultural programs, De Imperial Philanthropic Family remains an important player for progress and sustained development within the South-East.
