Diddy’s Mother Wins Big: Judge Tosses $33 Million Lawsuit Over “Godzilla” Song Rights

Janice Combs just scored a major legal victory. A federal judge threw out a $33 million RICO lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother, calling the claims too weak and filed way too late.

The trouble started when Deon “D1” Best, a former Diddy associate, accused Janice and her music companies of stealing his intellectual property rights.

According to information obtained by TMZ, Best claimed they ran an elaborate fraud scheme to rob him of royalties and publishing money from songs he helped create.

The heart of his complaint? The 1998 hit “Come With Me” from the Godzilla soundtrack.

Best insisted he “controlled, owned, produced and/or created” the track but claimed the Combs family used fraud and forgery to hijack his publishing rights.

He said he only figured out the alleged theft in late 2023 – which became a huge problem for his case.

Best originally went after both mother and son, seeking $33 million plus attorney fees.

But his lawsuit against Diddy himself got tossed earlier when he couldn’t explain what role the music mogul actually played in the supposed scheme.

Best then filed a new version that dropped Diddy entirely.

That strategy didn’t work either. On September 19, the judge delivered a brutal ruling: Best’s allegations were too vague and his lawsuit came years after the four-year deadline expired.

The court said Best would “take nothing” from the case and ordered him to pay the Combs family’s legal bills.
