Dr. Doyin Okupe, a respected Nigerian physician, politician, and former presidential aide, has died at the age of 72. Sources close to the family revealed that Okupe had been critically ill in the weeks leading up to his passing. His health had deteriorated significantly, raising concerns among his loved ones and supporters.
According to Sahara Reporters, Okupe’s death was linked to cancer, following a long struggle with the illness. In October 2023, it was reported that he had been hospitalized with prostate cancer and flown to Israel for treatment. Unfortunately, his condition did not improve as he and his family had hoped.
Okupe was first diagnosed with prostate cancer 16 years ago and later developed sarcoma in his right shoulder. His passing marks the end of a long and courageous fight against the disease.
