Operatives of the 9th Mile Division of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two male suspects, Chime Valentine Chidiebere and Alior Jideofor Kenechukwu, for alleged armed robbery. The duo was apprehended on February 6, 2025, following credible intelligence. The police recovered a Daylong motorcycle, which the suspects allegedly snatched from their victim, along with three locally fabricated guns and two live cartridges.

Preliminary investigations revealed that on January 5, 2025, the suspects boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu. During the journey, they stopped and shot the rider in the left thigh before fleeing with his motorcycle. Acting on intelligence, police operatives tracked down and arrested the suspects, recovering the stolen motorcycle, firearms, and ammunition.

The victim is currently receiving treatment for his gunshot injury. The police command assured that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspects’ accomplices, who are currently on the run, and that the arrested suspects will be arraigned upon conclusion of the investigation.
