Ex-Governor Badaru Applauds Jigawa’s Progress Under Governor Namadi

The immediate past governor of Jigawa State and current Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, has commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for his visionary leadership and outstanding performance, which he said have significantly improved the social and economic well-being of Jigawa residents in less than two years.

Badaru made the remarks at the flag-off of the Citizens Engagement Programme in Auyo Local Government Area, an initiative designed to enhance communication between the state government and the people across the 27 local government areas. The programme provides an avenue for citizens to express their needs while also allowing the government to showcase its achievements and ongoing projects.

Namadi’s Administration Delivering on Promises

Reflecting on his tenure, Badaru stated that he had full confidence in Governor Namadi’s ability to build on his legacy and even surpass him.

“During the 2023 campaign, I assured Jigawa people that Namadi would perform exceptionally. Today, I am vindicated. He inherited 26 road projects, of which 23 have been completed, and I have just commissioned one of them. In addition, he has initiated 41 new road projects covering over 1,000 km across the state,” Badaru stated.

He praised Namadi for continuing and expanding inherited projects while launching new initiatives under his 12-Point Agenda, which aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the All Progressives Congress (APC) philosophy.

“Jigawa is on the right path to prosperity and greatness. We are proud of him and will continue to support his administration,”the minister added.

APC Leadership Pledges Unity and Support

Speaking at the event, a key APC leader in the state, Alhaji Ahmad Isa Gerawa, reaffirmed the party’s unity and commitment to Governor Namadi’s administration.

“APC in Jigawa is moving as one family, and we will not allow selfish individuals to sow discord in our party,” he declared. He further urged party members and leaders to embrace tolerance, perseverance, consultation, dedication, and inclusiveness to strengthen democracy in the state.

Gerawa assured Jigawa residents that the APC remains open to engagements with individuals, groups, and organisations willing to contribute to the government’s efforts to deliver democratic dividends.

Citizens Express Satisfaction

As part of the Citizens Engagement Programme, heads of ministries and agencies presented their achievements to the people of Auyo Local Government Area over the past two years. Residents expressed satisfaction with the government’s interventions and projects, signaling strong public approval for Namadi’s administration. The event reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance, reinforcing Jigawa’s trajectory towards sustainable development.
