Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has been unveiled as the new manager of Egyptian second-tier side, Telecom SC. The Nigerian tactician penned a two-year deal with the club on Wednesday.
In this regard, Zubairu recently guided Nigeria’s U-20 team through qualification to both the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. Zubairu is respected for his tactical acumen and his commitment to young talent.
He first came to national prominence when he guided El-Kanemi Warriors to triumph in the 2024 President’s Federation Cup and has also had coaching stints with Wikki Tourists, Gombe United, and Akwa United.
The primary mandate of Zubairu at Telecom SC will, therefore, be to guide the club to promotion to the Egyptian Premier League, with an emphasis on building a competitive and disciplined squad.
