A Nigerian university graduate has become an internet sensation after playfully asking President Bola Tinubu to make him the next Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor—just ten minutes after finishing his studies.
The graduate, who goes by @j_perfect1 on TikTok, posted a video making his tongue-in-cheek demand.
In the clip, he said he had just graduated and couldn’t find work, so he was giving the president 24 hours to appoint him as CBN governor.
“I just graduated 10 minutes ago and I never see work. I give you 24 hours, make me the CBN governor,” he said in the video, mixing English and pidgin.
While he hinted at unspecified consequences if ignored, his tone suggested he wasn’t entirely serious.
The video quickly spread across social media, with Nigerians responding with a mix of humor and reality checks.
Some users reminded him he should complete his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program first, while others joked that it had already been more than 48 hours since his “deadline.”
One commenter noted that even regular jobs are hard to find after graduation, with another saying they’ve been doing online business for four years since graduating because of the job market challenges.
