Nollywood star actress and producer Funke Akindele recently set social media on fire with a post that got her fans believing she was getting married.
The popular actress, known for her hit series Jenifa’s Diary, made a post which caused waves of euphoria among her fans and fellow stars.
Akindele simply stated, “I am getting married.”
Before long, congratulatory messages were pouring in as fans eagerly celebrated what they thought was a life-changing update. But, in a playful twist, she proceeded later to declare that it was just an April Fools’ joke.
“APRIL WHAT?…………………F HAPPY NEW MONTH GUYS!!!!!” she captioned, clearing the air that there was no wedding in the works.
Whereas some of her fans were left laughing, others facetiously posted that they were disappointed, having already begun thinking of what they would wear to the wedding.
Regardless of the joke, the commotion around Funke Akindele’s post reminded all of how much fun she was and that she was never dull to be around.
Akindele was a twice-married woman. She initially married in 2012 businessman Adeola Kehinde Oloyede of Oshodi. The marriage collapsed on the basis of infidelity and abuse.
She later married music producer Abdulrasheed Bello alias JJC Skillz in 2016. They bore twin boys, but their marriage collapsed in 2020.
Ade Akindele now has learned lessons from her past experiences, which she recently revealed.
