Galadima Raban Nupe and Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago Coordinator of Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Gimba Abubakar, is deceased.
Abubakar passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday after a brief illness. He was said to have been healthy and active on Friday but later went to the hospital alone, where the deceased was confirmed to have perished.
Late Abubakar, who was in his early 50s, is survived by three wives and children.
Governor Bago, who was taken aback by the news of death, in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the late Abubakar as a disciplined and dedicated man who lived a righteous life.
The governor also sympathized with the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, and the whole of the Nupe Kingdom on the demise of the Galadima Raban Nupe.
