Haaland Scores Twice as Manchester City Defeat Everton 2-0 at the Etihad

Manchester city

Erling Haaland’s incredible form was maintained with him scoring twice during the second half as Manchester City defeated Everton 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

The Norwegian striker took his incredible record to 23 goals in 13 games for country and club this season and demonstrated again why he is considered one of the deadliest strikers in world football.

Following a nervy first half, Haaland had marked the 58th with a classic header, before making City’s advantage four minutes greater with a ruthless left-foot finish.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, fresh from signing a new deal, made a string of top-class saves to keep his team in the hunt, the visitors also looking threatening on the break when deprived of on-loan City winger Jack Grealish.

While subdued for much of the game, Haaland’s ruthless finishing was a testament to his power to alter a game within a matter of seconds. The 25-year-old scored in 11 games on the trot for Manchester City or Norway and is four goals from reaching 100 Premier League goals in 105 appearances.

Having netted a remarkable 138 goals in 155 appearances since signing for City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Haaland has continued to solidify his reputation as one of the top-scoring strikers of his generation.
