Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has had enough of Nigeria’s healthcare mess – and he’s not holding back.
The popular nightlife king, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, went on a passionate rant about the country’s medical system after what can only be described as a hospital nightmare in Lagos.
Being the gentleman he is, Cubana Chief Priest didn’t name and shame the hospital, but his disappointment was crystal clear. Fed up with the waiting game, he packed up and headed to another facility in Lekki.
But even there, the drama continued. Before he could see a doctor, he had to fill out what he described as an endless online form.
Eventually, he did get medical attention and walked away with medications for typhoid and malaria.
The whole experience left him shaking his head at the state of Nigerian healthcare. In an Instagram Stories post, he didn’t mince words about the challenges ordinary citizens face when seeking medical care.
“Honestly, healthcare is a joke in this country,” he wrote, clearly frustrated by the whole ordeal.
The entrepreneur, who’s no stranger to international travel, revealed his plan to get “proper medical care” when he next visits the UK – a sad reflection of how many affluent Nigerians have lost faith in the local system.
His closing remarks hit home: “It’s a shame sha, na God dey save person for this country”, a sentiment that can be related to by millions of Nigerians.
