Two-time Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic story of 13-year-old abuse victim, Ochanya Ogbanje, whose case has resurfaced following a GoFundMe campaign launched in her memory.
Ochanya’s ordeal marked by years of abuse from her cousin and his father led to severe health complications that caused her death in 2018. The renewed campaign has reignited calls for justice and protection for vulnerable children.
In an emotional Instagram post, Hilda Baci lamented that those responsible for protecting Ochanya failed her, adding that countless other victims continue to suffer in silence. She urged Nigerians to go beyond social media advocacy and take concrete steps to support survivors of abuse.
As part of her commitment, the celebrity chef announced a ₦2 million donation to aid the pursuit of justice and called on her followers to help select two NGOs that would receive the funds to continue supporting victims like Ochanya.
