Legendary actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead at their home in New Mexico on Wednesday, February 26. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, the 95-year-old, two-time Oscar winner, and his 63-year-old wife, a former classical pianist, were discovered alongside their dog.
No foul play is suspected, and the cause of death has not yet been determined. Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed the news on Thursday, February 27. Gene Hackman was widely regarded as one of the most accomplished actors of his time, with an illustrious career spanning decades.
He was best known for his roles in “The French Connection,” “Bonnie and Clyde,” and “The Royal Tenenbaums.” Throughout his career, Hackman earned numerous accolades, including:
