A Nigerian woman described her harrowing experience of being robbed and sexually accosted in Oyo state during her year of service. The victim, whose identity has been concealed, recounted the terrifying incident on TikTok, casting light on the traumatic event and the alleged negligence of local authorities.
According to the victim’s account, she and her neighbors were attacked by over seven armed men on the fateful day of the incident. The armed assailants forced entry into their residence before robbing them of their valuables and subjecting them to physical and sexual assault.
The victim disclosed that the criminals had groped her before stealing her two mobile phones and emptying her bank accounts. The victim and her neighbors reportedly summoned security personnel to the scene to provide immediate assistance.
To their dismay, the response from the authorities reportedly fell far short of expectations. She disclosed that security personnel allegedly failed to capture the criminals. She also claimed that the police demanded N50,000 from her before launching a thorough investigation into the incident.
