One of the sexual assault lawsuits filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been dismissed by a federal judge after the woman alleging he assaulted her would not make public her identity.
According to Linda Ikeji Blog, On Monday, US District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed the case after the accuser, “Jane Doe,” failed to refile her lawsuit by a March 20 deadline in her real name.
“As of today, March 31, 2025, [Doe] has not brought a complaint in her own name, nor sought leave to file within a short time,” Liman said in his ruling.
The woman had originally sued Combs in October, claiming Combs assaulted her at a party in 1995 and beat her when she spurned his advances. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, had requested in January that she be allowed to proceed anonymously, but lawyers for the beleaguered music mogul objected.
Lawyers for the troubled music mogul were ecstatic with the dismissal, saying it would be the first of many.
“This is the second case filed by these lawyers against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety,” they stated. “It will not be the last.”
They declared: “For months now, we’ve seen case after case being brought by individuals hiding behind anonymity, presented by lawyers more concerned with headlines in the news than the integrity of law.
The other cases, like the one dismissed today, will also not hold up in a court of law.”
This complaint is among a number of civil complaints filed against Combs in answer to federal sex trafficking allegations brought against him last September. The head of Bad Boy Records has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges and remains held without bail at a Brooklyn center. His trial is scheduled to begin in May.
