Mojisola Meranda Elected as First Female Speaker of Lagos Assembly Following Obasa’s Impeachment

Hon. Mojisola Meranda has been elected as the new Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly following the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa on Monday. A former deputy Speaker, Meranda was sworn in immediately, making history as the first female to occupy the position in the state’s legislature. Obasa was impeached over allegations of corrupt practices .
