Renowned Nigerian singer Gift Eke, popularly known as Muma Gee, has described Nigerian music as unique and dynamic, emphasizing that it has conquered the global stage. Speaking in Port Harcourt on Wednesday ahead of her upcoming concert to unveil her new single, ‘Shine’, Muma Gee expressed pride in Nigeria’s cultural influence in the music industry.
“We are everywhere. We are indigenous people as Nigerians,” she said.
The Ekpeye-born artist from Rivers State, who is also a prominent Nollywood actress, revealed that her new song carries a message of self-love, positivity, and destiny fulfillment.
“‘Shine’ is an inspirational song that encourages people to love themselves, stay positive, and embrace their future with confidence,” she explained.
Muma Gee further described her unique sound as Sound-Afrique, a fusion of African music with other global influences. She also called on the Rivers State Government to follow Lagos State’s example in supporting the entertainment industry by organizing music events and inviting artists to perform, thereby boosting the creative sector in the state.
