The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted successful airstrikes Tuesday on a terror hideout east of Chiralia, located in the dreaded Timbuktu Triangle, destroyed three gun trucks and knocked out some terrorists.

It was conducted over the weekend by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai following actionable ground intelligence, the Deputy NAF Spokesman Group Captain Kabiru Ali stated. The three terrorist gun trucks were sighted to be in the process of withdrawing from Sabon Gari towards Chiralia and fighter aircraft were quickly scrambled on an Air Interdiction (AI) mission.

Upon arrival, NAF pilots encountered several terrorists and their three camouflage gun trucks hidden under trees. With precise firepower, they opened fire using rockets and cannons, reducing two of the vehicles to ashes immediately. When insurgents tried to move the third truck, a follow-up attack left it in burning remains.

“The raw firepower consumed all the vehicles in the targeted vehicles in fire, while dozens of terrorists who tried to escape were killed in the process,” the statement further said.

The NAF emphasized the operation as a testament to its dedication to dismantling terror networks, limiting insurgents’ operations, and offering timely air cover for ground troops. It re emphasized its dedication to ensuring that no safe haven is offered to the insurgents while helping in security and stability throughout the North-East region.
