A unique edition of the popular Hallelujah Challenge, tagged the “Kirikiri Edition,” has been unveiled by Nigerian gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey. The one-day worship event is scheduled for August 27 at the Kirikiri Medium Security Prison in Lagos.
According to Bassey, the special session with inmates was a personal birthday wish. The program will not only feature a powerful worship experience, but will also include the distribution of food and the awarding of scholarships to some prisoners. It was further noted by the gospel minister that this special edition might not be streamed live, while the regular Hallelujah Challenge is set to return in October.
The first-ever Hallelujah Challenge was referenced in Acts 16:25-26, when Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God. It was shared that prayer for the event could be offered for the liberty of the spirit and a massive harvest of souls in Jesus’ name, as the event would not be streamed for security reasons.
