Newly Recruited Soldier Allegedly Stabs Police Officer to Death in Taraba State

A heartbreaking tragedy struck Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, on Monday night, leaving a community in shock.

A young police constable, Aaron John, lost his life after being allegedly stabbed by a newly recruited soldier during a heated dispute.

It all started in Mayo-Goyi, a quiet suburb of Jalingo, when residents reached out to the police for help. They were worried about a growing argument involving the soldier.

Constable Aaron John, a dedicated officer with the Taraba State Police Command, rushed to the scene to calm things down. But in a devastating turn of events, the situation spiraled out of control.

The soldier allegedly stabbed Aaron and then fled, leaving the officer fatally wounded.

James Lashen, the Police Public Relations Officer, shared the painful details, confirming the incident happened around 9 p.m.

“We’re doing everything we can to catch the suspect,” he said, his voice heavy with determination.

“We’ve informed the 6 Brigade headquarters of the Nigerian Army, and they’ve promised to work with us to track him down.”

The police have already visited the soldier’s home, and both the army and police are teaming up to ensure he’s found and brought to justice.

The Nigerian Army has also launched its own investigation, vowing to hold the soldier accountable for this unthinkable act.
