The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja, has taken full custody of Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun, a fugitive suspected of murdering an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps, SRC OO Lasisi, and her daughter.

The Osun State Police Command recovered the victims’ remains from a river near Iwoye-Ijesa on Monday, November 17, 2025. In a statement, police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin explained that Fejemirokun fled the country after abducting and killing the two victims.

The Ghana Police Service, acting on credible intelligence, tracked and arrested the suspect within their jurisdiction and immediately notified Nigerian authorities. Following the alert, officers from INTERPOL NCB Abuja travelled to Accra, where the handover was completed.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police, commiserated with the bereaved family and said detailed investigation into the matter would be done before arraignment. He also hailed the Ghana Police Service’s professionalism and cooperation. The police restated their commitment to the protection of the lives of Nigerians and the bringing of offenders to justice, no matter the distance and borders that separate them. Hundeyin added that the Force would continue to strengthen international collaboration in the fight against transnational crimes.
