Hilda Baci has done it again! The Nigerian celebrity chef who captured hearts worldwide with her marathon cooking session in 2023 just smashed another Guinness World Record – and this time, it’s all about Nigeria’s beloved jollof rice.
On September 12, 2025, at Lagos’s upscale Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Baci and food brand Gino cooked up something truly extraordinary: 8,780 kilograms (that’s over 19,000 pounds!) of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
Guinness World Records made it official on their X account, confirming this as the largest serving of the West African staple ever made.
The event was nothing short of spectacular.
A star-studded crowd gathered to witness history in the making, including Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, social media sensation Enioluwa, content creator Tomike, Pastor Idowu, and even Bamidele Abiodun, the First Lady of Ogun State.
Together, they watched as what might be the world’s most ambitious pot of jollof rice came to life.
