National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu has urged the public to disregard recent claims made by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, during his interview with Arise TV on February 24.
El-Rufai had accused Ribadu of orchestrating a campaign against him, allegedly as part of a long-term plan to clear political rivals ahead of a 2031 presidential bid.
“This project to destroy Nasir el-Rufai is Nuhu Ribadu’s idea. He is the architect and the one working with Uba Sani to execute it. They’ve tried, but so far, they have been frustrated,” el-Rufai stated.
The former governor further alleged that Ribadu and his associates were pressuring individuals, including some of his former aides, to implicate him in wrongdoing. He claimed the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) was being used as a tool against him.
In response, Ribadu released a statement dismissing the allegations, stating that he has never discussed running for president in 2031 with anyone. He also made it clear that he has no intention of engaging in a public feud with el-Rufai or anyone else.
“I am fully focused on my job and will not be distracted by unnecessary controversies,” Ribadu said.
