You know how sometimes one person can completely change your path? That’s exactly what happened to Afrobeats star Oxlade, and he’s not shy about giving credit where it’s due.
During a candid chat on a livestream with content creator Shank Comics, Oxlade got real about his journey to the top.

He shared how Fireboy DML basically took him under his wing when he was still finding his feet in the music world.
“When it comes to pen game, nobody is touching him,” Oxlade said, clearly in awe of Fireboy’s writing talents.
It’s not every day you hear an artist so openly praise a peer like that, but Oxlade wasn’t holding back.
The “Ku Lo Sa” hitmaker explained that Fireboy didn’t just inspire him from afar – he actually taught him the fundamentals of crafting proper songs. “I learnt how to properly compose music from Fireboy.
He was miles ahead,” Oxlade admitted. “He was part of my transition into making proper music before I started doing my own thing.”
But here’s the kicker – Oxlade called Fireboy’s mentorship “life-changing.” That’s some heavy praise right there, and it shows just how much impact one artist can have on another’s career.
Fans have been eating this up, with many praising both artists for showing what real brotherhood looks like in the industry.
