Terrorist

According to LEADERSHIP, Oyo State security agents, including the police and Amotekun Corps, have rescued a kidnapped teacher, Mrs. Bukola Olayiwola, and arrested four suspects following a night abduction in Ilora, Afijio Local Government Area.

The attack took place late on Sunday, March 9, 2025, when a six-man gang broke into the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Olayiwola in Odo-Osa, insisting that they be let in. Although Mr. Olayiwola was able to flee and raise alarm among neighbors, the attackers were able to abduct his wife, who teaches at Ilora Baptist Grammar School.

Vice-Chairman, Ilora Development Association (IDA), Mr. Rahman Bello, described how the suspects, believed to be Fulanis, knew the victim because they frequented her little shop. Afraid, she pleaded with them, reminding them of past favours. A swift action by security operatives, led by Ilora Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Mojeed Lawal, resulted in the suspects being tracked to their hideout. Four of the kidnappers were apprehended, and two fled.

Bello revealed that the suspect had worked as a security guard for a high-fenced estate near the house of the victims and had allegedly conspired with other individuals to carry out the kidnapping. The arrested suspects have been taken to the Oyo State Anti-Kidnapping Squad for questioning. The DPO commended the collaborative efforts of the local security agents and community leaders, including the Akibio of Ilora, Oba Samuel Olufemi Oparinde, and IDA chairman Elder Remi Olaniyan, in the rescue of the victim in safety.
