Portable Furious as Impersonator Cashes In on His Fame – Tells Fans “Deal With Him Yourselves”

Portable

Nigerian street-hop sensation Portable is seeing red after discovering someone has been making money by pretending to be him at live events.

The controversy erupted when videos went viral showing a man who looks remarkably similar to Portable performing the star’s hit songs on stage.

What really got under Portable’s skin wasn’t just the mimicry, it was learning that this impersonator was allegedly pocketing appearance fees from event organizers who thought they were booking the real deal.

Portable didn’t hold back in his response.

Taking to social media, he fired off a message that got everyone talking: “If my lookalike is performing my songs or dressing like me, beat him up yourselves.”

He made it clear he doesn’t want fans tagging him in posts about it, telling them to handle the situation directly instead.

The “Zazoo Zeh” hitmaker wasn’t shy about flaunting his worth either.

He bragged about commanding over ₦10 million per show, a stark contrast to the measly ₦250,000 his impersonator reportedly collected at one gig.

“If they call me for show, I go go o,” he declared, reassuring fans he’ll still show up for legitimate bookings.

The whole mess started when short clips of the lookalike’s performances began making rounds on social media.

Some fans were outraged, calling it straight-up theft of Portable’s brand and livelihood. Others thought it was just harmless fun

But Portable saw it differently. To him, this wasn’t just about copying his style, it was about someone potentially ruining his reputation and stealing money that should be in his pocket.

As expected, Portable’s explosive reaction has divided his fanbase completely.

Some supporters found humor in the situation. One fan, larrycrypt01, couldn’t help but laugh: “In a free world you can be anyone, it’s Portable of all people you wannabe.”

Another, AbiolaBL, joked about the potential consequences: “Until them bottle him head because them think say na him look alike.”

But not everyone was amused. Fan iwologbon expressed genuine confusion: “We don’t know if Portable is the one talking here or his lookalike, so I sit and watch while I confirm.”

While some fans are backing Portable’s no-nonsense approach, others think he should cool his jets and handle this through proper legal channels instead of encouraging vigilante justice.
