Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced he’s going back to school to gain better control over his music career and business.

The “Zazu” hitmaker, who already has an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, said he wants to deepen his understanding of the music industry’s business side, particularly royalties, contracts, and music management for his record label, Zeh Nation.

“Even though I already have an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, I still want to further my education so I can understand my music royalties and business deals better, especially for my record label, Zeh Nation,” Portable explained.

He emphasized that his decision isn’t about collecting more certificates but about learning to run his music empire professionally and profitably.

Fans have responded positively to the announcement.

“Finally, Portable is thinking like a real boss!” one fan wrote, while another said, “Understanding royalties and contracts is key for artists.”
