Controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, launched a fresh tirade against award-winning rapper Olamide, claiming the YBNL boss will one day regret not signing him.
Portable, who shot to fame with the 2021 release of Zazoo Zeh, a collaboration with Olamide and dancer Poco Lee, took to his Instagram story to express frustration over what he described as betrayal and abandonment by his former collaborators.
He said he was being cheated and side-lined after he demanded his rights, and accused Olamide of withdrawing his support after he helped him to rise to prominence. The singer insisted that his success today is solely a product of divine intervention and loyal fans.
“I believe in God, my phone, and sub. Any disappointment is a blessing. If you forget me, God no go forget me,” he penned. He also hailed British-Nigerian rapper Skepta as the helper who picked him up “from where them stop.”
Portable warned those he accused of hindering his progress, telling them that they would regret their actions. He specifically said that Olamide “will regret” not signing him or carrying him along because all he did was “fight for his right.”
He said nobody could stop his rise: “Don’t beg to shine. God sent my Helper to me. I’m international so I can be bigger than them.” This is not the first time Portable has publicly called out fellow artistes. In 2023, he openly sought a collaboration with Davido before turning around to criticize him when it didn’t happen. He also publicly begged Burna Boy for a feature despite the Grammy winner gifting him N20 million.
