Bewaji, the first wife of popular singer Portable, has appealed to the Ogun State government for leniency regarding her husband’s ongoing legal issues. She took to Instagram to share her heartfelt plea, asking for compassion and forgiveness for the sake of their children.
In her post, as shared by famousblog, Bewaji shared a photo of Portable and highlighted how his legal troubles could negatively impact their family. Her message comes after reports that Portable’s assistants were arrested and charged in a magistrate court for allegedly assaulting Ogun State town planning officials during an inspection of the singer’s properties.
Bewaji called for divine intervention and urged those affected by Portable’s actions to forgive him. She wrote:
“I am pleading with the Ogun State government and everyone involved to show mercy. My husband’s actions may have caused pain, but I ask for forgiveness for the sake of our children and our family. We are human, and we make mistakes. Please, let peace reign.”
This appeal follows Portable’s own public apology to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun. The singer also released a song appealing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in his case. Portable referred to himself as a “government liability” and pleaded for the release of his aides, who remain in custody.
