Popular Anambra preacher Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje has sparked fresh controversy with his latest bold declaration about death and immortality.
In a video that’s been making waves across social media, the flamboyant clergyman told his congregation something that left many scratching their heads.
He claims he won’t die like everyone else. Instead, he’ll decide exactly when his time on earth is up.
“I never die. I live forever,” Odumeje declared with his usual confidence. “When I die, no one can see my corpse. That is not a cruise. It is a fact.”
The preacher, who’s never been one to shy away from dramatic statements, doubled down on his claims.
He insisted this isn’t some kind of joke or publicity stunt, urging Nigerians to take him seriously.
According to him, when his time comes, he’ll simply “fly away” without leaving any physical remains behind.
Of course, social media had plenty to say about this. The reactions were as mixed as you’d expect:
Some people seemed genuinely intrigued. One user, @whiteben, wrote: “This man is not ordinary oo. He has spiritual backups… he’s not the one speaking.”
Others couldn’t help but find humor in the situation. @O B F joked about “The drummer 😂😂 and the hype man na them be the problem.”
Meanwhile, @EMMERSON tried to encourage people to look deeper: “Y’all should read meaning into it. He’s actually saying something, so listen. Everything no be cruise.”
But not everyone was buying it. @King J Nkum pointed out what seemed like an obvious contradiction: “You live forever… but you choose the date to die? Ain’t that a contradiction?”
