Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has received the smooth process of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward and local government congresses held on Saturday within Kwara State.
In a statement signed by his media officer, Local Matters’ Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki congratulated the PDP family on its success in holding congresses in all 16 local governments and celebrated the outcome as proof of the party’s commitment to inclusiveness, justice, and internal democracy.
He lauded the maturity and camaraderie shown by the delegates, members, aspirants, and stakeholders throughout the exercise, which showed that the peaceful process was a testament to the solidity of the PDP and its readiness to provide effective leadership at all governmental levels.
Saraki also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security men, and the media for professionalism and turnout that brought value to the transparency and credibility of the congresses.
Charging the newly elected local government executives, the former Kwara State governor charged them to view their election as a call to serve. He urged them to serve alongside other stakeholders to strengthen the party at the grass root, mobilize wider support, and reorient the values of accountability and inclusiveness.
