Saraki Dispels Political Realignment Rumors, Avoids Media Speculation Before 2027

The immediate past President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has dispelled rumors of his reported political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections as mere imaginations and jaundiced assumptions by the media.

In a statement on Tuesday by Yusuph Olaniyonu of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Media Office, the former legislator appealed to his fans and the general public to ignore the report, which he claimed was premised on sources and unbalanced accounts.

The media office faulted a national newspaper report that purportedly quoted Saraki’s associates during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders meeting in Ilorin, Kwara State. It also condemned what it described as manipulations by opposition elements in the state, who allegedly circulated doctored graphics and fake quotes to further mislead the public.

The statement clarified that Saraki’s silence on coalition talks among politicians has been misrepresented, adding that speculation around his political position was a projection of those attempting to interpret his quiet stance.

The Media Office emphasized that no such meeting with the reported content took place and reaffirmed that Saraki remains focused on meaningful political engagement, not media-driven distractions.
