Shehu Sani to Nigerians With Revoked US Visas: “Leave Now Before ICE Arrests You”

Shehu Sani

Former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani isn’t sugarcoating it, if your U.S. visa was recently revoked under President Donald Trump’s administration, it’s time to pack your bags and head home.

In a blunt warning posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sani urged Nigerians and other Africans caught up in the visa crackdown to leave America voluntarily before U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) comes knocking.

“Nigerians and other thousands of Africans whose visas were recently revoked by President Trump should hasten and leave the country and return home before they get arrested by ICE,” he wrote.

Then he added a sobering reality check: “No matter how long you live in the comfort of your adopted home, you will someday be reminded that it’s not your father’s house.”

Sani’s warning comes as the Trump administration ramps up enforcement of stricter immigration policies.

Mass visa revocations and residency permit reviews have already begun, leaving thousands of African immigrants in legal limbo.

For many Nigerians who’ve built lives in the U.S., some for years or even decades, the sudden policy shift has created panic and uncertainty. Jobs, homes, children’s schools, and entire futures now hang in the balance.
