Nigeria’s Super Eagles climbed four spots to the 41st in the latest FIFA World Ranking released on Friday.
The three African title-holders, as per the website of FIFA, also moved up one spot on the African continent, joining the top five on the continent. They are ranked behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.
The surge follows Nigeria’s phenomenal World Cup qualifying victories a 2-1 win over Lesotho at Polokwane and a 4-0 thrashing of Benin Republic in Uyo.
Internationally, Spain retains the number-one position while Argentina advances to the second spot and France drops to third. England and Portugal complete the top five.
