US Soldier’s Viral Video to Nigerian Army Escalates Tension After Trump’s Invasion Threat

Things just got real between the US and Nigeria, or at least, that’s how it feels online right now. A US soldier posted a video that’s causing a stir across social media, and it comes right on the heels of Donald Trump‘s shocking statement about potentially invading Nigeria. Trump posted on Truth Social calling on the US Department of War to prepare for possible military action against Nigeria. His reason on the killings of Christians happening in parts of the country. The statement sent shockwaves through diplomatic channels and lit up the internet with debate about American intervention and international sovereignty. Enter @allie_gold, a female US military member who decided to weigh in, and not quietly. In her uniform, smiling at the camera, she asked, “Nigerian army, are you all ready for us? We’re coming.” Was it a joke? A serious warning? Nobody’s quite sure, but the video blew up fast. Nigerians and Americans alike are in the comments, some laughing it off, others genuinely concerned about where this tension is heading. Whether or not Trump’s threat is serious, Nigeria isn’t sitting idle. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu just declared a state of emergency on all security training institutions across the country. Translation: Nigeria’s military and security forces are getting a serious upgrade. The problem? Many of Nigeria’s training facilities are outdated, poorly equipped, and inconsistent in their standards. Tinubu wants that fixed, now. His directive covers the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security agencies. The plan includes digital training tools, updated curricula, and modern infrastructure. Agencies have 30 days to submit detailed reports on their current state, and a special fund will be set up to finance the reconstruction.

Nigerian Army Confirms Death of Lieutenant Colonel, Soldiers in Borno Terrorist Attack

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that a senior officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Saidu Paiko, along with other soldiers, were killed in a recent firefight with terrorists in Borno State and referred to them as “brave heroes” who sacrificed their lives for national peace. In a statement signed by the Director of Army Public Relations, Lt-Col. Appolonia Anele, Commanding Officer 202 Tank Battalion and a few of his men died in a bloody confrontation with Boko Haram fighters on October 17, 2025. Anele explained that troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade were able to successfully foil a planned terrorist attack near the Kashimri area of Bama Local Government Area, Borno State. She said the troops neutralized and obliterated several Boko Haram hideouts, forestalling the terrorists’ attempts to attack civilians and disrupt economic activities. But the operation was expensive because Lieutenant Colonel Paiko and a few other brave soldiers lost their lives in action. “These brave heroes fought for our country’s peace, and their legacies will last forever,” the message read. Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, condoled the families of the soldiers who died and eulogized them as fathers, brothers, and sons who exemplified valor in the face of adversity. He restated the Nigerian Army’s determination to chase terrorist groups doggedly until there is peace and normalcy across the country. The Army also appealed to members of the general public and media to desist from publicizing photographs of dead soldiers before their next of kin have been properly notified, to preserve their dignity and respect the privacy of their families.
