Tim Godfrey Responds to Oxlade Collaboration Backlash: “Jesus Came for the Real, Not the Perfect”

Gospel artist Tim Godfrey has broken his silence after facing criticism for featuring Oxlade on his new song “Infinity.”

The collaboration stirred debate online, with some fans questioning why a gospel minister would work with a secular artist, particularly one involved in a past scandal.

Critics referenced Oxlade’s leaked intimate video and suggested Tim should have picked “a more suitable” partner.

After days of silence, Tim responded with a powerful open letter titled “To the Labeled.”

In the emotional post, Tim opened up about his own experiences with judgment, addressing anyone who’s ever been misunderstood or rejected for how they look or live.

He wrote:

“He sat with the broken, touched the untouchable, and called the forgotten family.”

Tim reminded his audience that Jesus never rejected anyone and didn’t fit the religious mold himself.

“You may have tattoos or dreads that make them stare, but neither did Jesus fit the religious image.”

Along with his letter, Tim announced his upcoming album No Label, dropping on October 31, 2025.

He described it as more than just music, it’s a movement for anyone who’s been judged, boxed in, or broken down.

He ended with a line that’s already garnering support across social media:

“Jesus didn’t come for the perfect. He came for the real.”
