Tinubu Vanguard for 2027 has also cried out against recent media attacks on the chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, as being a well-laid plan to bring him down and discredit him and the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Through a statement by its chairperson, Bisola Abdulkadir, the group alleged that certain individuals and interest groups were focusing on northern technocrats in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as part of a master political plan.
“The ongoing attack on Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman is not the issue of accountability or transparency. It is a target against the Tinubu administration, by individuals and groups determined to rubbish trustworthy technocrats of the north,” Abdulkadir stated.
The group praised Usman’s integrity, experience, and reforms at NAHCON, particularly his successful 2024 Hajj management and ongoing efforts towards improving pilgrims’ welfare and institutional transparency.
According to Tinubu Vanguard, reports from intelligence indicate that several political office holders of northern origin in the present regime have been singled out for character assassination aimed at “de-marketing President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027.”
The group urged Nigerians, and particularly northern stakeholders, to reject what it referred to as “malicious propaganda masquerading as activism” and rally behind leaders who are committed to national cohesion and effective delivery of public service.
