Towards 2027: Obi Has Not Left Opposition Coalition – Spokesman Clarifies

Peter Obi

Claims that Labour Party’s Peter Obi exited the opposition coalition have been dismissed. The coalition’s spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, confirmed Obi remains an active member during a Channels TV interview.

It was revealed that Obi has attended nearly all coalition meetings since inception. However, his formal ADC membership was delayed at his request. Permission was granted to complete ongoing Labour Party obligations first.

The same exception was reportedly extended to Nasir El-Rufai. Both politicians were allowed to conclude election processes in their current parties before transitioning.

The ADC has been adopted as the coalition’s official platform. But full integration of some high-profile members remains pending. The clarification comes amid growing speculation about the coalition’s unity ahead of upcoming elections.
