United States President Donald Trump has revealed that deceased conservative activist Charlie Kirk played a role in persuading him to join TikTok as part of his political outreach effort.
Trump, in an interview with Fox News, recalled how Kirk passionately urged him to join the platform.
Charlie did assist me, and Charlie was the person who would tell me, ‘get on TikTok,'” Trump said. “Charlie was great, and I did.”
The president also talked about how his TikTok strategy was created with the help of a strategist he referred to as “TikTok Jack.”.
He put that camera [up] and said, ‘just a real quick statement, like 10 seconds or less.’ They didn’t want anything over 10 seconds, but it worked,” Trump said.
Trump also credited his family for making him do it, particularly his youngest son, Barron. “Charlie and my son Barron are the ones that really… and I have to say, Don, Eric, the whole group, it’s important,” he added.
It was reported that Charlie Kirk, 31, Turning Point USA co-founder and leading conservative voice, was gunned down on September 10, 2025, during a public event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah, at the start of his “American Comeback Tour.”
