TSU Student Found Dead in Boyfriend’s Apartment, Police Launch Manhunt

A student of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, who was a 100-level Mass Communication student has been found dead within her boyfriend’s apartment, causing shock and terror among the university population.

The victim, Comfort Jimtop, who was from Takum Local Government Area, was reportedly found dead on Friday afternoon. There were reportedly empty packs of alcoholic beverages strewn on the bed on which her body was discovered.

It occurred in a 15-tenant compound, among the tenants being her boyfriend, Emmanuel Shata. All the residents, including Shata, evacuated the premises as soon as they were discovered by the sources.

The Taraba State Command Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Leshen James, confirmed the incident, stating operatives were trying to chase after fleeing tenants and the principal suspect.

When our men arrived at the home, no one was present. The boyfriend and the other tenants had left the house,” James added.

He assured that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances under which Comfort died.

The sad news has caused shockwaves across the campus and Jalingo residents, with citizens clamoring for justice as police intensify their manhunt.
