A United States-based Nigeria-focused organization, The Future Platform, has expressed deep concern over the surging wave of violent attacks and killings, particularly targeted at Christian communities across the country.
In a statement signed by its President, Austine Dafe, the group condemned the spiraling violence and called on the Nigerian government to take immediate, decisive action to protect the lives and properties of all citizens.
The organization’s condemnation was based on repeated attacks targeting Christian communities in Plateau, Benue, Kwara, Jigawa, Anambra, and Kaduna states, where there have been heavy casualties, burning of houses, and mass displacement. It called the situation “deeply troubling” and demanded justice for victims.
“The government has to get to the root of such violent attacks and make the protection of human life the priority,” the statement said. “Every Nigerian, irrespective of religion, has a right to life, liberty, and to worship freely without fear.”
The Future Platform noted that the sustained violence has attracted international concern, with both the United States and Canada urging swift intervention. The group appealed to federal and state authorities, alongside religious and community leaders, to unite against hate, intolerance, and extremism.
“This is a time for leadership and moral courage,” Dafe said. “The killings must stop, and the lives of innocent Nigerians must be protected.”
