Seasoned Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has come forth to comment on his acting career, highlighting the big role women have played in ensuring his success. Arukwe has been receiving accolades for his stellar performance in Love in Every Word, a film by Omoni Oboli.
With his popularity still on the increase, he remains immensely thankful to the people who have supported him along the way—especially women in the entertainment industry.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Arukwe gratefully thanked the women who took a chance on him and showed him the ropes in the industry.
“I don’t think I would be here without the women. That’s why I have a lot of respect for the women in my life. They have been incredibly supportive,” he stated.
He specifically mentioned Onyinye Udeze and Uduak Isong as two people who believed in him early in his career and opened doors that were a significant factor in his growth. Other than thanking his mentors, Arukwe also revealed how he learns so much from watching movies and acting with different actors.
I like to start with good Nigerian actors, even some of the worst. I do not mean that there are bad actors, but when I watch bad acting, I learn what not to do and how to act better,” he went on.
