Online activist VeryDarkMan has demanded the arrest of Raheem Okoya, son of billionaire Rasaq Okoya, for allegedly mishandling the naira in a viral video. In a six-minute video posted on X (formerly Twitter), VeryDarkMan criticized the disparity in legal enforcement, emphasizing that the law must apply equally to all Nigerians, regardless of social status.
The viral clip shows Raheem Okoya allegedly mishandling the naira in the presence of a police officer, who has since been arrested. However, Okoya has not faced any legal action, sparking public outrage. While Okoya has apologized for his actions, VeryDarkMan insisted that ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
Drawing parallels, he pointed out that public figures like Bobrisky and Cubana Chief Priest have faced consequences for similar offenses. “The law in Nigeria is for everyone, whether you’re rich or poor,” he asserted.
He also referenced his own recent arrest for wearing a police uniform, despite apologizing for the incident. Highlighting the double standards, he stated, “The police officer involved has been arrested, but the rich man’s son hasn’t been touched. An apology is not enough.”
The video has sparked widespread debate, with many taking to the comments section to share their views on the issue of justice and accountability in Nigeria.
