A graduation celebration took an awkward turn when a woman publicly rejected a marriage proposal from the man who had been supporting her through university.
The man, who worked as a plumber, had reportedly been paying for her education for five years.
He showed up at her graduation ceremony with an engagement ring, expecting to cap off the milestone with a romantic proposal.
Instead, he got a firm “no” in front of everyone.
The whole thing was caught on video and quickly went viral, sparking heated debates online about relationships, money, and expectations.
Some people felt bad for the guy. “He sacrificed for five years as a plumber to put her through school,” one person wrote.
“If it was some rich guy showering her with gifts after six months, she probably would’ve said yes.”
