North Central Support Group (NCSG) of the presidential ambition of Dr. Gbenga Hashim has requested the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to make the presidential race of 2027 a level playing field for all candidates regardless of origin.

At a press statement to newsmen at the PDP Plateau State secretariat in Jos, the group convener, Hon. Ezekiel Bilfa, appealed to the leadership of the party to revisit its current zoning formula to avoid shutting out deserving candidates from other zones.

Though we understand the need for intra-party dynamics and politics to win votes at the polls, we respectfully request that the PDP leadership reconsider its decision to zone the presidential slot to the South,” Bilfa said.

He stressed that Nigerians speak with one voice when requesting effective leadership that would transform the country’s economic and security woes, adding that the PDP is the only party that can bring on board leaders who would make real change.

The group commended the party’s National Working Committee, led by Acting Chairman Iliya Damagun, the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders for their commitment towards consolidating the party before its Ibadan-based national convention.

NCSG also confirmed the re-election of Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Plateau State and Dr. Hashim as president, terming them both visionaries with the ability, capability, and integrity to move Nigeria forward.
