Veteran musician Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has appealed to his fans, friends, and family members to de-escalate tensions surrounding his marriage to his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, warning that the situation is now endangering her safety.
In a video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, the singer expressed concern that the controversy had spiralled beyond control and was putting Natasha, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, at risk.
“This is a dangerous situation right now. I know what fans can do and I know what people can do. I am perfectly okay. And this is putting Natasha at risk. It is not fair on anybody to do this kind of thing,” he said, calling for calm from all sides.
He added, “We are going to resolve all these issues. People dey get issues for house, but this is getting out of hand. Please, friends, family, everybody ceasefire.”
2Baba’s appeal comes amid growing public scrutiny and controversy surrounding the couple’s relationship. The two were recently involved in a public confrontation in the UK, followed by another heated dispute during a live Facebook session with media personality Daddy Freeze.
Following the incident, the singer’s former manager confirmed that 2Baba was briefly arrested in the UK after a public altercation with his lawmaker wife.
The singer urged everyone to allow peace to reign while they work privately to resolve their issues.
