In a disturbing incident in Kongo community, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested an 85-year-old man for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl. Speaking to journalists in Lafia, NSCDC spokesperson Jerry Victor revealed that the crime came to light when the victim’s elder sister noticed the young girl walking unusually with blood dripping down her legs.
Upon questioning, the little girl disclosed her traumatic experience with the elderly suspect. According to Victor, the suspect, identified as Ibrahim Haruna, allegedly took advantage of the child’s vulnerability when no one was around, luring her into his room where the assault took place.
Medical examination later confirmed that the child had indeed been defiled. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, particularly as investigations revealed that the suspect and the victim’s family lived as neighbors.
When questioned, Haruna vehemently denied the allegations, claiming he was being framed. The NSCDC spokesperson announced that upon completion of their investigation, the case will be transferred to the state ministry of justice for prosecution. This swift action demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to addressing such heinous crimes, regardless of the perpetrator’s age.
